CIArb Introductory Course to International Arbitration – Cambodia

SIAC’s Chief Executive Officer, Ms Lim Seok Hui, recently spoke at the Introductory Course to International Arbitration organised by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The course provided the participants, comprising legal practitioners and students, an introduction to the various stages of proceedings in an international arbitration as well as the relevant legal principles applicable at each stage. Ms Lim discussed the topic, ‘Special Characteristics of Singapore Arbitration: Arbitrating in Singapore and the SIAC Rules’, highlighting key factors that have helped to establish Singapore as a leading arbitration jurisdiction, and gave an update on recent developments in Singapore arbitration law. Ms Lim also introduced the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), its rules, procedures and recent trends to the attendees.
